11/12/2009 - MidTown Code Enforcement Initiative
Maintaining visual quality in the MidTown neighborhood is an ongoing effort that MidTown Cleveland, Inc. continues to foster. Neglected yards, abandoned buildings, junk cars, and other wastes litter our community, depreciate property values and deter economic development. MidTown Cleveland, Inc. has taken action to address code violations in the district by engaging property owners and filing/tracking complaints with the City of Cleveland. To date sixteen (16) code violations have been filed with the Building & Housing department. Once a complaint is received an exterior property inspection is conducted. If the complaint is valid, a violation notice is issued giving the property owner time to make corrections. If violations are not corrected in consultation with the Department of Law, legal proceedings can be initiated against the property owner. For minor misdemeanor violations inspectors have the ability to issue tickets.

Help us keep MidTown beautiful! To register a complaint or to request additional information about this initiative, please contact Hunter Whyte at MidTown Cleveland, Inc. at hwhyte@midtowncleveland.org or 216.391.5080 ext. 107.
